Arab Summit

The Arab Summit dominated the news this past week here. Who would be attending, who wouldn't. Friday all the news channels documented Bashar Al-Assad's welcoming different heads of state, and Saturday was all the opening speeches. The airport was close Friday for all the delegations, and this Saturday English lessons in Sitt Zeinab were canceled because roads were closed. It was big! BIG!

Then I look at international coverage (BBC, NYT) and there's nothing but a small, hidden articles saying "oh yeah, there was a conference, or something. People said things, blah blah blah".
